Geddy Lee's new song Gone sounds unlike Rush but it's very very tasty. Have a listen:

If @markcarneyforpm.bsky.social wins the election, can he use his British connections to add a separate tab for Canada on the @bbcnews-world-rss.bsky.social website?

I keep getting promotions for Costco cruises. Have you been to a Costco parking lot? I wouldn't want to travel with these people.

So I voted yesterday at one of those advanced polling stations. The woman ahead of me showed her hydro bill as ID, marked her ballot and dropped her hydro bill in the ballot box! Gasps and laughter all around. She's not getting that bill back.

My Halifax neighbours tossed their NDP sign aside (near garage door) for a Liberal one. Sign of the times?

This wonderful crude quote from David Sedaris is about undecided voters in the US election, but it also applies to all voters in the Canadian election. Obviously, Mark Carney is the chicken.

open.substack.com/pub/deanblun... Carney didn’t need to shout. He didn’t need to posture. He lined up the free world—Japan, the EU, Canada in lockstep—and showed Trump the cliff’s edge. Strategic brilliance doesn’t get louder than that.

A really interesting interview with Mark Carney from 13 years ago on Strombo. This is a long time before he even entertained politics, but he's still a smart & affable but normal guy who has a rolodex that will have many huge investors interested in Canada. #cdnpoli

Pierre Poilievre hates government! He might not use a chainsaw in a photo op, but his intentions are the same: cut 🇨🇦 services, sell assets, privatize. As Carney says, we've seen this movie before.

Verb-the-noun signs we'd rather see at Poilievre rallies:

Ice the puck
Eat the rich
Kiss the bride
Shop the perimeter
Mind the gap
Keep the change

It was a sacrifice to give up Twitter X as I'd been there since 2007, but I just couldn't anymore. I'd even taught library students how to use it for promotion. So Bluesky it is. Thanks for having me.

Yes! We got our Carbon Rebate today. The program is working as intended and we're happy with it. If the program was scrapped, how would you put a price on carbon and ensure that those of modest means don't get ding'd?

What a great group of people who volunteer on Saturday mornings for Parkrun at the Chain of Lakes Trail in Halifax!

Missing from the photo because he was out on the course was our pre-run course checker @ianloughead.bsky.social who crossed the finish line first by over a minute.
