Dear American friends, how the heck is your president able to just launch an attack on Iran without taking it to the house, congress, a defence committee etc? I realise he might want to, but why would the military follow an order of such magnitude without wider political signoff?

The Minnesota shootings are domestic terrorism and should be called as such. But the guys white we probably won't hear that from the administration. Another point would be whether the diversion of police and FBI focus towards immigration has led to weakened intelligence and this being missed.

The Laken Riley Act mandates the detention of illegal immigrants charged with certain crimes and allows states to sue the Department of Homeland Security for enforcement failures. So surely failure would be locking up those who aren't criminals, and not locking up those that are. States - get suing!

There's 8800 LAPD officers, 2000 National guard and 700 Marines in LA - against a population of 3.8M. So that's over 340 people to every one of Trump's lackeys. The government only ever has the illusion of control. And non-violence doesn't have to mean compliance.

The spite towards Greta Thunberg is simply because we don't like younger people triggering a deep seated unease within us that we should be doing more. If she annoys you, ask the David Attenborough question - would you still be annoyed with the activism if it was Sir Attenborough instead.
