The correct way to connect the authoritarian presence in LA and the Big Beautiful Bill is that the bill gives the government the resources to do this in dozens of cities at once. So if you don't like what's happening in LA, it's coming to your town if the bill passes.

Note that The Welcome Party (who puts on Welcomefest) seems to be organized similarly to Indivisible, eg a 501c(4) organization which donates to an allied PAC. Or as Jared Golden would characterize it "dark money". But he supports this effort, while vilifying Indivisible. #mepolitics

Zooming out it's wild that Jared Golden's managed to make himself so politically vulnerable at a time when he could easily have been popular.
