I'm in the process of turning my first novel into a podcast that I can publish alongside the text as I serialize it, and it makes me feel so cool 🥰

and to answer your question, yes, the penstock leads to a reservoir on the ocean floor. Presumably the total head has to be downrated, since they're pumping brine in seawater rather than water in air

omg so I just discovered that my dishwasher has a storage baggie glued to the inside of the front faceplate with the service manual, so that anyone who is trying to repair it has the knowledge they need. #LG_Electronics just earned a customer for life.
The service manual for an LG dishwasher sitting atop the removed front faceplate, which is flat on the floor with the inside facing up. The manual has a sharp factory-supplied crease down the center, and the edge of a plastic zipper baggie stuck to the faceplate peeks out from under the manual, sized just large enough to fit the manual when folded in half.

ughhh this was just supposed to be detaching the garbage disposal to remove an errant ball bearing, but then the J trap busted a nut. Now I gotta make an emergency trip to the hardware store to avoid my house filling up with sewer gases 😖
The J trap from under my kitchen sink, lying on a paper towel. My finger is inserted into the lower pipe and you can see it through a large crack in the compression nut that is intended to secure it.
