Some recent acquisitions. I don't know how many of you do physical media, but I imagine I'll always be hooked. These past couple months' random sales, thrift store finds, and eBay, have more than doubled (tripled?) my typically casual spending.

I do need to stop spending on physical media, but the pre-order price of this Luc Besson 4k (And a few Blu-rays) set was too low to pass up on:

I'll probably be kicking myself of Black Friday, but for now, I'm happy.
Finally a 'The Big Blue' 4k priced to buy (averaged out 😇)

I'm really feeling that Riz Ahmed's Relay is not getting the chatter it deserves.
Many here will have no idea it exists.
Catch it in the theater before it disappears into the vapor due to a lack of marketing.

My rambling thoughts over on everyone's favorite movie site:

A ★★★★ review of Relay (2024)
Man, I don't know who decided not to do any marketing for this film, but it reminds me of how films like Snowpearcer and Sunshine hit the screens in almost pointless silence. This is a worthwhile corp...

Coming Out is a 1989 German language film. I found it to be an immersive & realistic look at the times, one's struggles with the optics and politics of being gay while trying to 'keep up appearances', such as in the teacher role our lead has, as well as his journey of discovery

We all live in different worlds, and the one that we explore here is likely one that those who are not within it could ever envision.

Sublime is a realistic coming of age tale that I enjoyed well enough. It seems to be well received by many. Our main character is a 16yo guy who is great friends with one of his band-mates. He's comes to realize that he's more interested in him than just a bro, but is it 2 way?

Let's rotate down to 1980's South Africa. Apartheid was the law of the land, young men were conscripted to 2 years of duty, and gay men, who were called the slur moffie, were beaten down physically & emotionally, and made example of.
This biographical tale is not a feel good film.
