Hi everyone, I’m still on Twitter but thought posting #okleg updates on here would be helpful for those who left.

I’m the policy director for ACLU Oklahoma and post about legislative session, criminal legal reform, 2SLGBTQ+ rights, repro freedom, free speech, etc — but most importantly, my dog.
Tremane Wood is facing execution in OK this Thurs despite not killing anyone.

The pardon & parole board recommended clemency. It’s now up to Gov Stitt to follow the board’s recommendations.

Make your voices heard & call his office to spare Tremane’s life.

When we won marriage equality at the Supreme Court in 2015, it was the culmination of decades of advocacy from the queer community.

Families across the country have built their lives around the landmark ruling that affirmed our freedom to marry — and we’ll defend that right no matter what.

1 in 4 women convicted of failure to protect in Oklahoma receive a longer sentence than the man responsible for the child abuse.

When DV survivors report suspected child abuse, they can face a lifetime sentence. A bill that would have changed that never got a hearing.
A bill to reduce sentences for domestic abuse survivors who "fail to protect" their children failed in the Oklahoma legislature. Prosecutors say the state law targets enablers, not victims. Advocates argue it punishes mothers in abusive relationships.
