The cost of security for the Charlie Kirk memorial service / rally will come to $10 million.

If Turning Point USA had taken security more seriously on September 10, Charlie Kirk would still be alive, his family wouldn't be mourning, and taxpayers wouldn't be paying for this.

I canceled Hulu/Disney+ yesterday, telling them I'd come back when ABC reinstated Kimmel. If they only thing they understand is their bottom line, that's where we have to hit them. #BoycottDisneyABC

Look, it's anti-Christian bias!
BREAKING: Police just surrounded Rev. William Barber, prominent activist and pastor, as he and others prayed in the U.S. Capitol Rontunda.

Police then expelled everyone (including press!) from the Rotunda to (presumably) arrest them.

I've covered protests here a lot. Never seen anything like it.

There are two wolves inside us. One is made up of anger, envy, greed, and arrogance. The other embodies joy, peace, love, and kindness. My grandfather said the one who wins is the one we feed, so I only fed the good wolf.

It was eventually eaten by the bad wolf, who was starving.

As a kid, I read stories about villains who did their evil deeds because they were evil. The older I got, the more I understood that life is more nuanced than that. Nobody thinks they're the bad guy.

That said, "because I'm evil" is giving off a lot of Occam's razor energy these days.

Oh no, Facebook is down. Now where can I drop my mundane musings?

Here, I guess, but no one will see them.

Today I called Governor Hobbs' office to ask her to resist Trump's unconstitutional revoking of birthright citizenship. Tomorrow I guess I'm calling her office to ask her to veto HB2062, which does various bad things to trans people and passed by one vote today.

It's going to be a long four years.

Trump White House's first trans executive order is out. I'll be reading over it here and going through line by line to help you make sense of it.

"Hey, Mike. You're looking good after that car wreck. My wife told me you were barely hanging on."

"Um ... I actually didn't make it, and I don't know who you are, sorry. I lost three years after the clone."

"Dude! Always make---"

"I know, I know."

It's not a good sign for your branding when one of your trucks blows up, killing the driver, and my first thought is that it was a product defect.

Happy new year. 2025.

All right, people, we're doing this.

Wolves don't lie around waiting for someone to feed them. Which wolf wins? The most skilled hunter. Or the one you allow access to the henhouse.

Philosophical types tell you to live in the moment. I lived in the moment once but was evicted when I couldn't make rent. The moment is more expensive than people let on.

One thing you can say for libs. We got our asses kicked this time around, and we're devastated, but we're not whining about how the election was stolen or plotting a violent insurrection to stop the results from being certified. "Snowflakes" are tough enough to live in reality, even when it hurts.

I'm hopeful enough to not be freaked out all the time, freaked out enough to not feel complacent, looking for ways to help, and in need of a nap. Nice to meet you.
