On this day in 1904, Bill Foster was born in Calvert, TX. Considered the best lefty in the Negro Leagues for most of the ‘20s and ‘30s, he was THE star for the Chicago American Giants. Here’s my painting of him with the Cuba Baseball Club during the 1927-28 Cuban Winter League season.
