Little known fact: Harper Lee was a high-priced call girl and these "friends" were wealthy johns. At least that's my guess.

I submit to you that the idea that cars are over-regulated in the United States of America is profoundly laughable.
December 26, 2025 at 7:30 PM
Barring cars from certain areas is not and cannot be construed as confiscation. You can own a car but cannoy, say, drive on a elementary school playground, for example. That doesn't mean your car has been taken away.

I have a problem with people living in cars in the sense I believe people should live in homes and society should make that possible.

I have a problem with cars because they are noisy, dangerous, and polluting.
December 26, 2025 at 4:31 PM
I mean I didn't answer your question, complete stranger on the internet, because why would I.

You did, by implication, imply that any restrictions on how cars are used and where they are allowed is somehow an abrogation of your personal rights.
December 26, 2025 at 4:10 PM
It's reasonable to believe that car-ownership is a property-rights issue, but it's patently absurd to suggest it then follows that because one owns a car one can use it however they choose. There are zillions of rules about car-usage, and I think there should be even more.

So that's me: car fascist for believing speed limits should be obeyed and stop signs stopped at. Oh and that the penalty for installing glass-pack mufflers should be death.
December 26, 2025 at 3:40 AM
And who knows, maybe you're right? When it comes to cars, especially in cities, maybe there should be more limits. Or, hell, I'd be happy just if the limits and laws that are theoretically in place were enforced and followed.

Anybody unfortunate enough to read this exchange would, I believe, see that if you didn't use the precise phrase "fascist pig," it was certainly heavily implied.
December 26, 2025 at 3:29 AM
Finished it, wished I hadn't bothered.
December 26, 2025 at 3:25 AM
Good idea. I'll find someone who doesn't assume I'm a fascist pig for not liking cars and give them some help.
December 26, 2025 at 1:06 AM
I mean that sucks for but also it puts you in maybe the bottom .001% of car-users. I guess when I think of cars I think of the maybe 5,000 vehicles that speed past my house every day.
December 26, 2025 at 12:56 AM
I am pretty sure no one is suggesting putting people or cats out on the street.
December 26, 2025 at 12:52 AM
I mean a car is an extension of anyone's ability to retain mobility. That doesn't mean that they can't or shouldn't be better regulated.
December 26, 2025 at 12:49 AM
I have no opinion I could form on you as a person. But screw your car.
December 26, 2025 at 12:46 AM
Ha ha ha ha! Yeah, you're standing up for the essential god-given human right to drive whatever vehicle wherever you want. Heroic!
December 26, 2025 at 12:42 AM
Also fuck your fucking car

December 26, 2025 at 12:31 AM
Fine, we can keep the cars that people are living in.
