In almost 9 years at my previous job, the company never bought my lunch. In 2 months at my new job, they've bought me lunch 3 times. Not a pizza party, bought lunch for me. And today's lunch was with the head of operations, who asked for me personally. It's nice to feel wanted.

Working your way up within a company, only to be laid off because that company wants to move its operations to the other side of the country, is one of the most disheartening things in life.
