So keep our family in your thoughts. These next few days and weeks will be rough, especially on my kids.

We're currently scheduled with the vet to say goodbye to her tomorrow afternoon. I'm sad for the loss of our sweet cat, but preparing my oldest son for this has been the hardest part. He loves this cat so much, and he has been convinced there is something we could do... but there just isn't anymore.

After she recovered from her latest skin condition, she was diagnosed with CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease). For a while, we had hope that a change in food and paying more attention to her fluid intake would help, but she was still consistently losing weight and getting weaker.

About 5 years after we adopted her, she got her first of several really bad skin rashes. She ended up getting one every year or two after, and the vet was never able to really diagnose why even with specialist input. The only thing that helped was a steroid shot, and that comes with its own risks.

When we got her from the shelter in 2014, she was already missing her left eye and was terrified of everything. She spent most of her first week with us hiding in the bathroom sink or in my desk shelf. Eventually she trusted us more and was the friendliest, gentlest cat I've ever known.

I try to keep most of my posts upbeat, but my family and I have been dealing with some hard life stuff recently. Last month, I lost an uncle and a cousin (separate situations), and now we're being faced with some tough decisions and even tough conversations with our kids about our poor kitty.

I dipped my feet into the Pacific Ocean for the first time last night.

Hot take: Atlantic > Pacific. If not for the surf possibilities I’d say it’s tied with Lake Michigan. It’s so cold! The beaches near my home are warmer than the Pacific, and they freeze over every year!

I think I posted it on here, Threads, Instagram, Twitter, and Discord. The ridiculousness of it seemed to go unnoticed everywhere, lol.

Most of the Cracker Island records don't have the arrows like that, but this one does. I'd love to see this one spinning on a turntable.

Addiction is a dangerous path. Even children will do anything to get their fix.

Don’t let your kids get hooked on EDM.

This upgrade process has morphed into more restoration than I imagined, but it’s hard to resist making things look nicer than they were.
