I finally finished the roll of Portra400, and am happy to say that I’m now a half frame medium format convert 😀

It’s almost time to close the doors of #ChromaTowers for a few days of Christmas family
time so just a quick update on the EasyLoad compact SnapShot and double sheet dev tank I’ve been working on.

I’ve got a roll of #Portra400 in this new Pano (24x56mm) format film insert for my Six6SWC. Assuming the test roll works as it should, I’ll be able to offer both a 12 frame 6x6 and 24 frame Panoramic option from one compact medium format camera.

As well as working on two #CubePan #Panoramic 35mm cameras and a #Six12, I’ve also been working on two project builds;

1. Custom 8x10 lens board with embedded threaded ring for a large brass petzval lens.

There will be an update going out to the mailing list soon, but I wanted to follow up my slightly cryptic post about beta product(s) delivering a result. I’ve been working on my own unique sheet film holder system on and off for the last few years and am seriously excited about it.

Another first today is the number 1 #FX617 (6x17 medium format) camera that’s being shipped later on. This cone is for a Schneider 90mm f8 lens, and excellent all round option for 6x17 and smaller formats.

I’ve just built the first #SnapShot with my new compact lens cone design. The camera has the same removable main front plate, which I’ll be using for a future ‘Adventurer’ field camera accessory system, but the smaller cone now makes it easier to carry additional cones for multiple lenses.

These were from the first roll I put through my new FX617 a few weeks ago. Taken with Kodak Gold 200 in Port Sunlight (Wirral, UK) and a Schneider 90mm f6.8.

That feeling when you design a brand new large format camera system, a brand new sheet film holder system, a brand new dev tank system…and get a decent result. More details coming soon after a few tweaks 😀
