I frequently remind people that when given the chance, Republicans held DOZENS of hearings about Benghazi, knowing full well that it was nothing that would result in nothing, but it forced the media to discuss a right-wing buzzword for months on end. Dems think that stuff is petty, but it’s strategy

I say this for everyone who thinks that we just have to go along with what the public things: we don’t. The public can change their minds. They have in the past.
We can just do the right thing and then not end up looking like a horrific bigot in a handful of years.
