I just learned that Florida has the most book bans in the country; some titles include 'Diary of Anne Frank,' 'The Kite Runner,' and 'The Bluest Eye.'
I'm ashamed to live here, and as an educator/parent, you best believe I'll continue to read these stories and share them w/ my child #Booksky #Books

Nearly every single Republican voted against releasing the Matt Gaetz ethics report.

Remember this the next time they pretend to care about protecting minors.

People not elected to government should not have the power to reshape the government, especially people whose obscene wealth depends on the government functioning a certain way.

This is not a hot take.

It's just plain common sense.

What happened to America?

Part of the answer is that a bunch of people whose lives range from fairly comfortable and uneventful to wealthy and influential worked themselves into an insane lather of victimization by things that aren’t real, and that this justified a vicious, anti-democracy response.
Some on the side that just won the presidency and the Senate, retained control of the House, and enjoy a Supreme Court majority believe they are on the verge of losing access to credit markets based on their political beliefs.

Not all solutions come through dialogue. Some problems are power problems and they are solved through the struggle, by taking collective action.

Imho we are dealing with the latter type of problem here.

Having received hundreds to thousands of fan mail each week, it's only fitting to honor White with a postage stamp.
The USPS will honor Betty White with her own stamp in 2025

Indeed. When they rounded up the Japanese Americans, myself and my family included, for internment during WWII out of fear over Japanese spies and saboteurs, two thirds of us were U.S. citizens.

Don’t think it won’t happen again when they come for the “undocumented.”

Oh no, this echo chamber I'm stuck in is full of amazing art, generous, kind people, and joy.

What ever shall I do?

Many people think that as you get older, you care less about politics. But it’s not true.

You start thinking a lot more about the kind of world you want to leave behind. You want it to be better than the one you were born into.

We all have a personal legacy in mind. Mine is to outlive Trumpism.

The number of people that have yelled at me in my video about the word “cisgender” saying that they “don’t need a label” other than man or woman only to go to their profile and see in their bio some version of Christian/Patriot/Veteran/etc.

Just be honest. You LOVE labels. You’re just a bigot.

I don't want to sound alarmist or anything, but I'm not sure it's a good idea to skip FBI background checks and bury congressional ethics reports about nominees to the most important posts in the federal government.

What an achievement vaccines are. What a monument to our love for each other it is to stare straight into the face of something as horrific and unstoppable as smallpox or measles or polio or cervical cancer and say “You know what, it doesn’t have to be like this.”
