Hard as it may be, get your friend in touch with the media, esp the right-wing ones, and make sure they report this. Time is of the essence. Even have them say they're a UCP supporter, even if they're not, to get Smith's attention. Do everything possible to see that specialist sooner than later.

That hair would be of great interest to a spinner. Once made into yarn, Malamute hair (that is a Malamute, right?) is said to be the warmest yarn of all, even warmer than muskox or yak.

Thanks for posting this, Crawford. Running has saved me in more ways than one, where life-long friendships have been made with people I thought I had little in common with, also how I met my husband later in life. Positive, who-cares-about-the-weather people. My people.
