James Talarico: Frankly I am tired of the ‘thoughts and prayers’ rhetoric from our leaders.

There is something profoundly cynical about asking God to solve a problem that we're not willing to solve ourselves.

The time for thoughts and prayers is over. It's time for us to act.

Trumps abhorrent behavior isn’t a surprise, it was the entire point of his campaign. He was voted in as a middle finger to civility and reason, sad that we have lost so much faith in our government.

Although Trump’s abhorrent political beliefs are ultimately more damaging to the nation, his reprehensible personality is more shocking to me on a personal level.

I can’t fathom how anyone can support someone who is so obviously a terrible human being.

Wouldn’t be shocked to see this administration domino this into further militarization against its own citizens
