Yesterday my hyper focus was iPhone automations and my nfc tags are coming today

I have automations for adding to the grocery list, tracking my skincare actives, and tracking light therapy ready to add them to 😂

The Mormon prophet died, and the new one has a Reputation for being even more anti-LGBTQ, anti-tolerance, anti-progressive. Here’s hoping he doesn’t tell my Mormon family to be meaner to me, as I am an Apostate. 😬

grant no measure of grace to any professed “reasonable Republicans;” at this point belonging to the GOP is like admitting that you’re a cannibal, yes, but you don’t eat *people* or anything… and you’ll only be at the bbq because all your friends will be there
40% of Republicans think the COVID vaccine killed more people than the COVID virus. One in four believe that QAnon is real.

No matter how far they radicalize, we are told over and over again that the people being rude to them are the problem.

Today’s joyous moment: I didn’t realize a book I’ve been really excited about is already out! Praise be to @bethboldenauthor.bsky.social

Back to school made me busy enough not to keep track of my TBR pub date list 😂😂

My far right dad and I have discovered common ground in our disdain for the current Democratic Party

Listen I’m not a New Yorker and I have no horse in the NYC mayor’s race.

But it seems like Mamdani’s the only one who actually *likes* NYC? I feel like that should be a requirement.

There is not one marginalized, racialized, or oppressed group whose oppression or destruction is an acceptable cost for saving "democracy." Not one.

If saving democracy requires leaving marginalized people behind, that's not a democracy worth saving.

Either we all get saved or none of us do.

reposted this today because the inverse is also true:

if you abandon trans people right now, you are abandoning civil rights period.

if you can't stand up for trans people when it matters, no one should, or will, ever trust you when the bullseye moves to the next target.
the thing about trans rights is that we fight the civil rights issues of our time. nazi chuds have made this the issue of our time.

it's not more *important* than other civil rights issues, but it is the battleground of the moment, and we have to meet the moment to support everyone's rights.
Centrists bigots and right wingers have this all backward. YOU are the ones constantly bringing up trans issues. I would be happy to not think about this shit every day of my life unless I was talking to or reading something by one of my trans friends and thought of it in passing. SHUT THE FUCK UP

I’m at the point in my Monster Romance Journey that I roll my eyes and go “what did you think this was” every time a review says “OMG I found a monster attractive how far I have fallen from the light of god!”, which is basically every time I check the reviews of any monster romance

Speaking of t shirts I have picked out the podcast t shirts I want for the next time I get paid

My only gripe is that @ifbookspod.bsky.social doesn’t have a *whispered* freakonomics shirt

(Which I assume would be a copyright infringement)

One of my very favorite t shirts is a 2016 campaign shirt from Bobby Jindal and it says “Tanned. Rested. Ready.”

He released it as a response to criticism that he “wasn’t really Indian” (his parents are Indian immigrants), he was “just tan”.

It’s my favorite and I wear it like every other week 😂

A fun thing that happens when you hit your goodreads goal for the year early (I’m chronically ill and in bed a lot) is that every time you open the reading challenge page after that it does the confetti explosion 😍

I made some really calming herbal tea today because I really needed it, and if you’re an herb person and need it too, here’s the recipe.

This is one of my faves and is from Herbal Medicine for Beginners by Katja Swift and Ryn Midura (from the Holistic Herbalism pod and Commonwealth Herbs)
