We’ve made an assumption that this was political.

What if it was just weird? Like the guy who shot Reagan to impress Jodie Foster?

I’ll not say his name again if possible the same way I won’t say hers.

He was an awful person. The world is better without him.

There were two children shot in a school yesterday. That should be why we lower the flag.

As I cannot celebrate his life, I cannot celebrate his death.

But he really deserves just as much attention as the 300+ people killed by gun violence this year that we hear almost nothing about.

Let him pass from memory.

My son and I were down in the basement dealing with homeowner issues. His hands are so unmarked by life as of yet. I wonder if I should be glad that I’ve been able to provide a life so kind or guilty that he has no callus to face the world with?

I wonder what happens to all of the cultists when he is gone?

Does the whole movement implode? Do they move on to the next person who tells them being awful is ok?

Which is worse? Someone who BELIEVES in him, or someone going along to be their worst self?

I can’t stress this enough. Seeing a Van Gogh in person is TOTALLY different thank as an image. The depth of the paint (not the color, he really loaded the brush) creates subtle shadows that make the subject’s “ness” so much more.

We don’t have enough money to house the homeless but we have enough to employ roving gangs of people to arrest them.

And send them where?

Let’s defund ICE and spend that money helping people.

Think about how many things aren’t deal breakers for Trump supporters.

At this point I have no problem viewing them as latent criminals waiting for a chance to commit their preferred crime without being held accountable.

I also painted for the first time in a long while today. It’s little different than my normal, but I went in with absolutely no plan except to play.

I keep hearing it and I stay confused.

How does automation create more jobs? It is by definition the elimination of work and jobs.

And all these AIs? They’re chatbots. They have more to draw from than Eliza but it’s still a chatbot.

Using generative AI is admitting you lack capability.

I think a lot about the ending of Go Set a Watchman.

Maybe it was always to be read as a warning that abusers abuse and the answer is hit back or get out. It isn’t your obligation to be miserable for what is only a possibility.

I feel like it’s a warning to the country that we didn’t see.

Whenever I see a Republican say something about being anti Trump my first thought is, who did you vote for? Whose policies did you support?

They aren’t anti Trump, they’re upset they lost control.

RFK asking AOC “how did I do that,” with his budget should be the reason to remove him. Every time one of these bad faith post truth people start stonewalling they should be asked if they understand that we know they’re lying and obfuscating.

I miss the Colbert Report

But I don’t think the US deserves anything satire of that caliber anymore.

What we deserve is Ruby Rhod to be our news source.

The president is losing so much ability to connect things.

Someone should ask him about how important he was to Epstein, or how he was the biggest name at the island and just let him talk about himself.

It would be horrifying on so many levels.

Maybe there are crimes that shouldn’t be allowed plea bargaining.

Maybe there are crimes you shouldn’t be allowed to plea guilty to.

Maybe it’s time that some felonies get tried no matter what. You don’t get to go to jail quietly and the state must prove its case.

I think this would keep some

I have no good answer for this problem.

Should we forgive and accept those who are truly sorry for having elected this administration.

Yes.

However how do we ensure they don’t do the same thing in 70 years? There must be a cost. We can just keep treating racists with kid gloves.

When this is over, I would like to see the USPS rebuilt with the funding it needs. I always took the mail for granted until I saw places where mail wasn’t guaranteed.

I have felt the desolation of not getting mail.

And I have felt the joy of a letter from home.

I went to an Oddities and Curiosities convention in Providence yesterday, and there amongst all the outward displays of gloom and darkness I saw kindness and acceptance.

The people our society has thrown away have found each other and made a collage of support.

Each day there are small moments of quiet beauty. That’s what I hang on to. We can not ignore the large events, they need to be recognized and called out for what they are. We should not ignore the small events that can ground us and give us hope.

Three celebrities have died this week that made the news cycle.

Ozzy and Chuck passed and fans are talking about their music and memories of things when that music played.

That’s how people should celebrate your passing. NOT by posting video of your court testimony about genitalia.

Watching Friedman grill Richardson is wonderful.

Facts

Lies

Facts with receipts

Same lies

My biggest issue is giving Noem ANY respect. “Would you say she misspoke?” Just say lie, call it what it is so it can be addressed.
