The games selection on Google Play seems dire. Having just played 868-HACK a bit on Steam deck, that kind of bite-sized thinky but not crunchy experience is perfect for mobile, but it feels like the mobile scene has regressed / been commodified by gambling adjacent stuff. Sucks.

Finally finished this fucking doorstop of a biography on Hirohito. I feel like I actually (very vaguely) can conceptualize imperialist Japan and the emperor system now.

So fucking infuriating. AI steals your work then steals your money so you can't work any more.
NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

I'm grateful that there was a free weekend for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II recently, because I was interested in that game until I played it for 2 hours.

I'm now more confident than ever that I can safely regard any AAA video game story as boring if the "story" is primarily told through cutscenes.

I first played Caves of Qud around Thanksgiving, then a few years later I dived back in around the same time. So now when there's a chill in the air, the urge to Live And Drink strikes again...

Once you realize there used to be a person supporting the Japanese emperor with the title Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal, the names of bosses in Dark Souls make more sense.

I like reading physical media, so I wanted to give Game Inf*rmer a fair shake and I got their magazine. But their coverage is so rote and mainstream, it's so boring.

Also, the first sentence of this Ninja Gaiden piece is the worst piece of professional writing I've read in a while. Word salad.

One of my buddies at Epic was this guy who majored in Philosophy. We didn't work together much but I felt like we shared a similar trajectory of begrudgingly accommodating a normal corporate environment. We both got pretty good at that.
