I rewatched the first episode and it really made me appreciate the visuals once I knew what the premise of the show was and didn’t have to focus on what was happening.

I kind of feel the same way. There were a few real duds in the second season and it leaned a little more cartoonish. I was worried that the third season would be a disaster.
