Lots of good choices like Bob Mould’s Workbook, XTC’s Oranges & Lemons, the Pixies’ Doolittle, De La Soul’s 3 Feet High and Rising, Slint’s Tweez, Bob Dylan’s Oh Mercy, Nine Inch Nails’ Pretty Hate Machine, Mudhoney’s Mudhoney, but the best album of 1989 is the Cure’s Disintegration.

My “mostly native plants” Japanese garden-inspired back yard is still a work in progress but I had to stop and take a picture yesterday when I was draining water into our little retention pond. One day when it’s done I am going to spend a lot of time out here. 🌱

When someone reply alls to a worldwide network email list with many thousands of people on it asking to be removed and that makes dozens of other people reply all asking the same thing and someone finally asks people to stop hitting reply all and that just gets incorporated into the reply all chain.

After around two years in the ground my Blue Java banana finally has a flower! I have around a dozen varieties planted but this is the oldest one. More to come soon. 🌱

Sometimes you start a weekend morning digging out a new spot to continue making your stone and granite pathway and accidentally hit three pipes you didn’t know were there with your pickaxe and then spend the next five hours without water as you struggle to fix them instead of making your path. 👍
