Always.

Trump is getting the same reports.
Russia’s military and security services give Putin regular updates that inflate Ukraine’s casualty numbers, stress the country’s resource advantages and play down tactical failures, two officials said.

The problem with a coverup is it inevitably requires you to cover up the coverup.

The US special envoy sounds like a mouthpiece for Putin.
Putin needs no disinformation campaign of his own. He has the Trump gang.

Karl Rove was an expert at dealing with his candidates hidden scandals. He would deliberately leak true information about the scandal, but in a way that made the leak look fake or questionable (think W Bush’s drug use while in the air national guard).

Could Netflix or Disney just buy Star Trek so I can finally stop caring about Paramount?

On top of everything else the DOJ will release fake information in order to cast doubt on real information.

JD Vance makes me want to apologize for being white.

I support this. But Congress has to take this seriously. No more delays. No more 30 day grace periods. No more censures. At a minimum, impose fines. Significant fines. $100,000 a day against Bondi until she complies with the law.
The DOJ isn’t going to prosecute itself. Congress is talking about using its own authority to step in using its own constitutional powers to enforce accountability. When DOJ refuses to act (especially in matters involving its own conduct) Congress can’t rely on the executive branch to police itself.

Everyone talks about the republicans fear of the 2028 general election. I’d argue their real fear is the 2028 primaries. If a few Republicans who fight Trump actually win their nominations, the party will go into complete meltdown. Trump’s power over the base is the only power he really has.

I would argue they don’t even understand the purpose of journalism.
The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.

Ask Vance how many times he felt the pressure to apologize for being white. Ask him to describe a specific instance.

The Indiana GOP tells Trump to pound sand.
Indiana’s Senate has voted AGAINST the GOP gerrymander that’d have locked in a 9-0 map.

This keeps the 7-2 map in place, saving two Democratic seats heading into 2026.

The vote failed big, 19/31.

The MAJORITY of the GOP senators opposed it!

One bright spot: it’s still difficult to indict someone when you have no evidence they did anything wrong. It’s still bad that they even tried. But I’ll take it.
These people really can’t take a hint, can they? There is no there there! Bravo to these ordinary citizens serving as grand jurors with integrity!

It will be easier to expand the court than to impeach the current members. The former only takes a majority.
