What is it with this, apparently distinctly American, conviction that punishing politicians for the crimes they commit sets a bad precedent? Is it not self-evident that "person who does criming" would be a universally bad leader, and should be treated appropriately?

There's an argument for GenX being the cursed generation: Grew up in the shadow of the Cold War. Graduated into a 90's global recession and no jobs. Tried to start families / buy houses as the dot com bubble exploded. Lost our promotions to boomers that wouldn't retire then younger millennials 1/

Is leaving "on read" actually a thing, and not just a typo/autocorrect for "unread"? What is it supposed to mean? Someone's read the message (status on "read") and didn't reply?
