This was such a good interview. And totally agree with Coates, I hear people say the word complicated all the time re: Palestine. Honestly, it feels like a cop-out.

We were singing a round in 4th grade today and first I was dividing them into parts like "peanut butter and jelly". I thought it'd be fun but it was too controversial so then I tried DC sports teams. Nope! That was even worse. So now we're dividing up by major cities in Ohio.

News from the teaching world: my classes come up with their own "music class agreements" each year aka rules. One class said that we should listen to more didjeridoo music. Another agreement is 'Ms. Capellan has to bring in cookies'. (P.S. yes, I'm already thinking William Barton unit)
