In Midrash Tehillim 1.10, Rabbi Chiya states the opinion that God prevented Noah from siring a child who would be a descendant of the generation of the flood and would therefore die with them. This seems to call to mind the story of Noah’s lost son in the Quran (Q 11:36-49):
