This thread is a continuation of my earlier discussion of Q 38:22-23 which you can read in the link below. In this thread we will explore some possible Christian traditions that may have influenced the story of David and the disputants.

Q 38:23 has two disputants confronting David with one of them saying that he had a sheep stolen by a man who had 99 sheep, a story which eventually leads David to repentance after an unspecified sin:

In the 17th century, non-Anglican Christians were required to be licensed by the church of England in order to preach. Non-Anglicals were also frequently persecuted for their religious beliefs. This is an example of why state-sponsored religion is a horrible idea.

I'm disappointed that no science YouTubers have reacted to the Institute For Creation Research creating a cyberpunk Young Earth Creationist graphic novel called Project Artifact: The Spear. Why has this oddity slipped through the cracks? SAD!

Any political ideology that uses violence, bullying and authoritarianism to further its agendas must be rejected. Whether you are left, right, center or whatever there is no difference. The best societies are those which are governed with human freedom as the core principle.

If you are a Christian and you believe that being killed on the battlefield somehow guarantees you entry into heaven, you're getting your theology from Heraclius and Urban II, not Jesus. Salvation is not achieved through bloodshed, but by the shed blood of Christ.

I hate how the concept of advocating for free speech has been weaponized by certain groups and turned into an excuse to spread falsehoods and say horrible things about Jews, LGBTQ people and minorities. Free speech should not be used as an excuse for/code language for hate speech

The problem with the modern far-right is that it's not actually conservative begin with. It's big government statism that uses the language of conservatism to dupe conservatives into supporting authoritarianism and government takeover of what should be independent institutions.
