I finish most of the things I read. But if it's something I intended to review (esp if I got an arc) I almost always do, even if I end up not writing about it. I don't feel like I can have a complete opinion (even just in my head rather than on the page) without the full book.

I did my first one on my own and that was also p fucking delightful, not gonna lie. The space and time were all mine.

Like, I am very lucky because my friend and I are happy to be all "we will be mostly quiet and just inhabit the same space" but solo was a whole different level of peace.

I’m not sure the holiday is long enough…

This will be the… fourth one, I think? First one I did on my own, and then two with a friend, and it’s DELIGHTFUL. Quiet, cheese, blankets, and good chat when it’s wanted. Would extremely recommend.

Just checked this year's shortlist and Ice's pagecount is about the same as four of those novels put together (the four shortest together add up to 1086, in fact). So if it makes the list it's essentially adding an extra three books of reading time?

My favourite part is how she’s holding that fish like it’s a gun.

Also comes in cow and cat flavour (the traditional Christmas animals)

You would think! And you would be very wrong.

We’ve been going for a decade now and I do think there’s a difference between the “clearly tat” that is shoddy and full of errors and poor craftsmanship, vs some of the tasteful stuff which is often v well made.

Not the price, mind. That’s the same.

Given that they've spelled "guinea pig" wrong, given us the suit of spades in red and a musical stave with the wrong number of lines, I am entirely willing to believe this is wrong as well.

And then my actual favourite, because I’m pretty sure the way this is set up, the tree is driving the tractor
