I am a real person. My workplace has a very strict real-name social media policy, so I use this. United fan and match goer, currently just occasional. New music. Cider bore. Probably a left(ish) world view.
100% agree Paul. Where did it start though? Was it the advent of pundits, TV air to fill and fancy graphics? Or was it Pep micro managing Barca and everyone following him? The arrival of Opta stats in the late 90s?

Sesko is going the same way as Hojland too. He looked lost up there the last few matches before injury. And to my eye he looks really promising. Be criminal to have a lad like that chasing centre backs around until his nostrils bleed.

The bad news 4. The football is shit and it doesn’t feel like it’s getting better. When the results are poor too, it really sticks out. Those second halves against Forest and Spurs were also really poor, saved by last-gasp get out of jails. No last minute reprieve to save a point last night.

The bad news 3. Selecting Zirkzee was brave: the guy is clearly short of confidence and sharpness. How he stayed on for 90 minutes I’ll never know. It’s like those coaches are watching an entirely different game. They were clearly arguing amongst themselves at times too.

The bad news 2. Both Mbeumo and Amad were greedy last night. Normally I don’t mind that but my worry is that’s a symptom of players not trusting that the team will create more chances. That lack of trust is a real concern for me.

The bad news 1. Relying on Dorgu, Dalot or Maz to be attacking wingbacks is madness - they just aren’t good enough in that role (I like Maz defensively though). And when that breaks down United run out of attacking ideas so quickly it’s scary. And we’ve seen it time after time, especially at home.

That’s something that an ex pro pundit might say. It’s his 2nd language to be fair, but does he not understand how that sounds? So 89 more minutes and he can’t increase the energy? Either from the touchline or at half-time?

Amad has been that player when Bruno isn’t

I’d start him every match, I’m a Kobbie ultra. Defo a good option now. Be good to have Mbeumo more central too. He’s United’s best player tonight and I think he’s just wasted out there

Ha remember that?! For Hull wasn’t it.
November 24, 2025 at 8:52 PM
Yeah he’s had loads of chances. But he never really looks like he’ll nail his place for the following match, never mind for a long run of games. In fairness he does look pretty good on the pitch, when a game opens up a bit.

…and looking for your glasses.

That wins the Internet today.
November 22, 2025 at 8:27 AM
Why not. It’s to our eternal shame that we played him as defensive midfielder and fuck me, a centre back. Because he’s tall, tough and an academy player. That period is going to look really bad, for everyone but him.

She’s a proper proper wrong un, her. But she’s been different since she was in those Epstein depositions. Also her and / or her people are very politically adept, big lens and local- as much as I hate to admire that. So yeah, dunno! See first line; above.

Best type eh

I felt sorry for him. The papers were saying all summer that Terry Butcher was coming to United…and Donaghy was unveiled. Super game against Legia in ECWC semi away, maybe even MOTM? But yeah think even he was surprised he was bought and played as much as he did.
November 12, 2025 at 9:34 PM
Yeah I’m old. Good that there’s proper Reds in Cheltenham
November 8, 2025 at 10:10 PM
No but United should beat spurs. Any spurs. Especially a spurs that were 0-1 at half time with boos from the home support. United are expected to win every game. I did treat Fergie like this btw.
November 8, 2025 at 9:31 PM
Why make any though? Ugarte effectively played there too when he came on. Also today Maz, Dorgu, Amad and Dalot all played in at WB today. That’s a lot.
November 8, 2025 at 9:25 PM
I’m frustrated with the constant changes to the defence. It’s not an area that rewards change, it’s an area that is based on consistency and trust. I don’t mind tinkering and micro changes in other parts of the pitch, but not there.
November 8, 2025 at 8:36 PM
United are are expected to win games and when they don’t, people get fucked off. Especially when they’ve looked like they should win the game. Manager is always no.1 target, that’s the gig. I was supportive of Amorim after the Forest game, as it goes. But today was really frustrating.
