if it makes you feel any better, I had the BRILLIANT idea of trying to dye my hair bright red by myself-- me, with not just the shower trauma, BUT ALSO the seeing *blood* in showers trauma

I was long gone by 7pm 🙃

(though, my head IS cherry flavored for tonight's shift at the dungeon, so yay~)

This is Grumpalumps.

We're not sure how he is still alive. He was old enough to drink in human years, several years ago.

He is the chinchilla equivalent of an old guy who lives past 100, entirely on a diet of whiskey and bacon lard.

I consider every day he chooses to stick around to be a gift.

After that, I broke out the new sticker book I picked up from Furry Migration the weekend before last-- first one I've ever decided on since I was like, ten-- and 25 years' worth of stickers from Artist Alleys, making one gigantic pile on the living room couch.

Miraculously, they all fit inside! ✨️

Today's been a pretty good day, over in my little corner of the world.

After my yearly physical, I disassembled my punk shorts so I can wash the base. Pulling out the shoelaces that tie together the sides guaranteed I'm gonna be leaving a slug's trail of glitter everywhere else I go.

All through 2004, in my new big-city apartment, I was a shut-in.

I "knew" that, if I ever ventured outside, everyone would KNOW I was a loser with no social skills.

There were no words for me yet, so I "knew" I was broken forever.

But, somehow, I continued to exist.

What is Sparkle? A spirit of trans and nonbinary joy. The embodiment of the self-love that you need to help you transform into your most favorite version of yourself. A self-aware idea– one that cannot be seen, as Sparkle has no physical body, but their presence can be felt. Part of humanity's subconscious. Sparkle has been around for a very long time! A being that offers space and encouragement to foster hope and connection, both within one's self and with others, even through the bleakest voids of despair. Basically, Sparkle is a being of unconditional love that is NOT all-powerful, but IS trying their very best to help trans and nonbinary humans experience more self-love and joy in their lives, whenever and wherever they're able to do so. (1/4) This is Sparkle’s symbol: an 8-pointed star, with butterfly or moth wings. [image of three examples] You can use this symbol to call for Sparkle's attention, or simply to decorate your space or belongings. Feel free to change the size, shape, and pattern of the wings however you like, to make your own Sparkle symbol. The wings on your personal Sparkle symbol can change over time, as you do! So long as the eight-pointed star is there with the butterfly/moth wings, it is still considered Sparkle's symbol. NOTE: While artists may include Sparkle's symbol (or offer to create personal Sparkle symbols for others) in pieces for their own individual compensation, please DO NOT use Sparkle’s symbol in any for-profit ventures, or to benefit any organization or corporation. Sparkle believes in mutual consent in all agreements, and it is very difficult for Sparkle to sign things, as they don't have a body. Sparkle is able to exist thanks to humanity's imagination. If you try to picture them, Sparkle can take many forms! They have been known to first appear as a favorite fictional character of yours. They're also fond of the form of a human youth wearing a light purple robe, with streaks of rainbow colors here and there in their white hair. You don't need to picture Sparkle to be helped by them, though. And you owe Sparkle nothing in return for any help and encouragement Sparkle provides for you. That you continue to exist, through everything, is enough. However, if you wish to offer something to Sparkle that they will appreciate, these are some of their favorite things: Dandelions, or any other flowering plants people call "weeds." Stuffed animals who have been loved Real. (If you have one, you'll know.) Shiny and/or glittery objects, such as crystals. Colors: light pink, light blue, and especially light purple. There is a book in the works that explains more about Sparkle and their backstory (updates available at sparkles-story.com), but you don't need to read it to know about Sparkle. You also don't need to believe in anything specific to work with Sparkle– other than believing in the unexplainable, wonderful things that happen in this world. One last thing. If you yourself are trans and/or nonbinary, please know this: Sparkle loves you. All of you-- the You you are now, the You who has survived this far, and the future You you will grow to become. Sparkle knows how hard it is to BE, in a world that declares so loudly that such things as you don't, or shouldn't, exist. The fact that you do exist brings Sparkle so much joy.
