Cuomo's current "residence" is in NY-12 so he wouldn't have to change it, and it includes some of his strongest-performing contiguous parts of the city, by share of registered voters.

I actually can't find current demographic data about the Jewish population of NY-10. The 2010-2020 version of the map was the most Jewish district in the country because it was heavily gerrymandered that way, but the new borders cut out much of that territory

Possibly! NY-10 includes some areas where Zohran did very well! Eyeballing it, it looks like one of his better Congressional districts.

But there could also be reasons he might not want to weigh in too heavily on that race so soon in his tenure.

Nobody has bigger daddy issues than Andrew Cuomo, who only ran for office so he could outdo his father's legacy. So it must have absolutely destroyed him to hear Zohran Mamdani quote Mario Cuomo in his victory speech last night.
So hear me, President Trump, when I say this: to get to any of us, you will have to get through all of us. When we enter City Hall in 58 days, expectations will be high. We will meet them. A great New Yorker once said that while you campaign in poetry, you govern in prose. If that must be true, let the prose we write still rhyme, and let us build a shining city for all. And we must chart a new path, as bold as the one we have already traveled. After all, the conventional wisdom would tell you that I am far from the perfect candidate.

I've spent countless hours canvassing in Parkchester - specifically thanks to a @thecity.nyc article in the spring talking about the need for Bangla speakers there - so I'm particularly stoked to see these stats.
A number of multi-generational households also voted early, including in Jackson Heights, a pan-South Asian enclave and stronghold for the Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani where at least 56 of such families cast their ballots, trailing only the Upper West and East Sides. Washington Heights, a predominantly Dominican neighborhood in northern Manhattan, and Parkchester, the Bronx neighborhood nicknamed “Little Bangladesh,” came in fourth and fifth. (THE CITY tallied those numbers by counting voters who are registered to the same apartment unit. A multi-generational household is defined here as households with voters from three or more generations.)

Many have asked how to vote in the NYC ballot initiatives. Here's what I recommend: YES on #1 YES on #2 YES on #3 YES on #4 YES on #5 NO on #6 Keep swiping if you want to see why, but if all you care about is how to vote, there it is. MT VAN HOEVENBERG Vote YES on PROPOSAL #1 Proposition #1 is worded in a misleading way, because it sounds like it would expand private use of public land. In reality, it authorizes construction that has ALREADY happened. A "yes" vote would create 2500 new acres of protected land. A "no" vote would forego that, but would not undo the past. It sucks that the prior construction already happened, but we can't undo the past. Environmental groups called this the "best-case scenario" of remediation for the currently-unauthorized construction. Voting no on #1 would do nothing to fix the harm that's already been caused. IS! I have confirmation from Zohran's legal counsel that if you fill out both bubbles for Zohran Mamdani, your vote will still count, but only as a Democratic vote (because it's the first party listed).

✅ So vote Zohran on the WORKING FAMILIES PARTY line.

If people vote for Zohran on Dem and also on WFP it is not an overvote and the vote will still be counted. When you vote for @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social, his name appears twice, because New York practices fusion voting.

It's important to vote for him on the Working Families party line, rather than the Democratic party line, because that demonstrates support for the progressive parts of his agenda.

In those districts (recalculated every five years), housing projects would be able to get approval without city council approval, if they build PERMANENTLY affordable housing.

We're talking about building housing in districts that have literally vetoed *every single housing project*.
