It’s not just down to central government funding levels. West Sussex County Council made an ideological decision to freeze Council Tax for many years, which leaves the most vulnerable people at risk of cuts in public services.

Good question, and relevant to local elections to West Sussex County Council, which were cancelled in May 2025.
The prime minister’s answer indicates that elections in Surrey will be cancelled again. Will elections take place to WSCC in May 2026, or will they be cancelled again?
