I unironically got into writing by doing exactly this in the form of fanfiction. ✨
This is how you become a writer: just pick one of the things that is deeply wrong with you. Make it a character. Now send it on a self-help journey or try to kill it. Now call it a book.

I was grounded for 3 years from basically everything, including reading. Once a week my gramma would sneak me to the library, let me check out a laundry basket of books, and then hide them so I could read when it was just us. That was one of the most impactful things anyone has ever done for me. 💕📖
