US BUDGET DEFICIT SOARS

The deficit jumped 19% to $291B in July. This is despite $21B collected from Americans due to higher import taxes, which led to higher costs on goods like furniture, footwear, and auto parts.

The deficit for 2025 is already $1.63 trillion, up 7% from the last year.

Republicans have been calling for an end to the Department of Education basically since it was established, @dgraham.bsky.social wrote in February. “But most presidents, including Trump, can’t and don’t want to get rid of the things it does.”
What Does the Department of Education Actually Do?
With the help of Congress, a president could get rid of the agency. Getting rid of the programs it runs and the money it spends would be a different matter.

Trump's Tariffs are so stupid. Let's say we make a deal with the UK for only a 10% tariff on US exports, but we charge Brazil 50%.

Brazil could simply import US goods through British distributors and bypass the 50% tariff.

Trump's team are a bunch of idiots.
