I had a lovely reader interaction today that ended with me not making the sale. Because I realized quickly that the types of books I wrote were not what she was looking for. She was understanding, and we had a nice little chat. She was so sweet, and didn’t berate me for not writing what she liked.

No one fears Octavia (except "pretty women are scary" types). They should, though. She's obviously a warlock and how do you think she safely travels alone?

Still editing the fluffiest 🌶️ thing Tallis and I have ever written. It'll be a nice standalone when it's done. Was talking with another author today about how it helps to have a few standalones, because not everyone's ready for a series. But it's so fluffy, not sure it's a good representation.

Went to Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights last night. I had never been before, and it was so fun. I think as a former theater kid and someone who also did haunted houses, seeing that kind of event at that level of production was just magical.

Woke up to quite the update on this. I had been in contact with Payment Cloud about getting their service and they waited until now to hit me with the image below. Again, stringing me along instead of being upfront. They had seen my website multiple times before this.

We have an anthology with a demon summoning app coming next year. It’s part lexicon, part succubus/incubus Tinder, part infernal Yelp. A friend pointed out that we could make the different demons’ profiles, and now I am spending way too much time researching and designing this fake app.

So I am super upfront about the fact that this is a pen name. And I am going to be doing an event in Florida, as this pen name. While staying with my father. And hoping he doesn’t try to attend said event, so I don’t have to tell him that I have a pen name.

I’m aware of what a mess it is right now. I’m gonna keep doing the work, sending money where I can, showing up when I can, doing my best for a positive change. But I need to protect my sanity, and I have a book coming out on May 1, so I’m gonna focus on that for a little while.

Edits to Bound to Desire are done! I have removed over 300 instances of "just" and checked for the correct spelling of blond/blonde and several other things! I will now get myself a little treat!
