It has been a rough start to this school year to say the least. First quarter is finally over and grades submitted so I decided to give my room some attention. A student offered to rearrange desks and I finally got my words of wisdom wall back up!

Today is my 10th wedding anniversary which happened on the 6th anniversary of our first date. Our marriage secret (besides love and respect etc)? Return to the site of that first date on our anniversary every year. It’s also 16 years since I joined the Uprising and earned this bad boy!

Not everyone gets New England’s best cider donuts (as ranked by the Boston Globe) in the staff room, but I do! Thompson’s Orchards are in our district. I was raised on these!

In today’s demonstration the uselessness of Google’s AI summary. If you google the population of Gray, ME (one of the towns in my district) it will tell you that the population is 810. 🤣🤣🤣 It’s actually over 8,000. It’s from a website that says it’s based on census data. I don’t think so!

After a trying summer it was amazing to get live music in my veins. Caught The Pogues in Boston for the 40th anniversary of Rum, Sodomy, and the Lash. I was lucky enough to see them with Shane a few years ago. Glen Hansard was also on the bill and was incredible.

A relic came in the mail today! It seems to have shrunk quite a bit since the last time I got one. The Portland area is 65,000 people plus surrounding towns.

Looks like my district stands to lose almost $70,000. That’s not a small number for a small rural district! We’ve already cut out budget back due to it not passing the vote.

Last night I saw Kesha for the third time. It was an awesome show, as expected. The pure unadulterated love and joy in that venue was so amazing! Over 20,000 people cheering, singing, and dancing their hearts out!

My backyard is a veritable coopers hawk habitat. They def. snag the chipmunks but I watched one watch a squirrel for 30 mins and then fly off.
