I was asked yesterday what my most romantic #mushroom was and these cultivated pink oysters are the winner. Just look at the gills, so enchanting. They are native to Asia.

Took me a while to identify this fungus, as the younger specimens look quite different: copper spike (Chroogomphus rutilus). The dark and light spots are atypical. Copper spikes are edible but lack flavor. (Found in Styria, Austria)

Two tiny yellow capped mushrooms with slender stalks, mycelium roots showing. These are growing amongst a tangle of white thread-like material found under the leaf litter on the damp forest floor. There are small sticks and twigs in the leaves too. Dominant colors are brown, white, and yellow.

Apricot jelly is an edible but bland fungus. It can be eaten raw in salads, pickled or made into sugar candied treats. A gorgeous mushroom to find and always reminds me of rose petals on the #forestfloor. It is a widespread #fungus
