I am much more concerned with talent identification than I am budgetary constraints. We’ve got the cash, the Garber bucks, etc., and are willing to spend.

Right. They aren't asking because they have access and are doing so internally.

Right, so the data analysts hired at every MLS club in the league are being paid to look at sprint speed?

Seems like a waste of resources, and that doesn't even consider the millions upon millions they spend on third-party data providers to look at statistics for players across the globe.
November 13, 2025 at 8:47 PM
You're referencing tracking data, which is a separate dataset, and likely means the teams you are referencing do not have the ability or access to advanced statistics, which is why they are not requesting it.

Because if they could, they would.
November 13, 2025 at 8:38 PM
None of that is remotely considered advanced stats?
November 13, 2025 at 8:33 PM
Do the players you are promoting play in a league or club that collects, tracks, and has access to advanced stats?
November 13, 2025 at 8:30 PM
Yes, they do. That's the entire point of statistics and data in sports. That's why everyone, everywhere, is using them, because they tell you precisely what you are saying they don't.
November 13, 2025 at 8:23 PM
Completely, entirely, wrong in "what the stats do", btw.

I think CITY announcing moronic roster decisions every Chat City Tactics Eve is actually a conspiracy by the tactics industry to sell more clicks.

Those who make bad decisions deserve the blame. Hackworth, rightfully, deserves all of the blame for this Yaro decision.
November 13, 2025 at 4:58 PM
Do I believe that Hackworth, as part of the "collaborative" FO setup between Diego/Hack/Wray, was the driving force? Absolutely, because he was.

We can blame ownership for who they put in charge (Diego). Blaming them for roster machinations misses the mark because they simply write the checks.
November 13, 2025 at 4:55 PM
You mean, blaming the Technical Director, whose job description involves contract extensions and domestic signings, and who is the only member of the entire FO to have been present for both his signing and two subsequent extensions, is "cope"?

Whoof.

I’d imagine a 30-week “season”, with a couple of divisional weeknight games
