Dude who plays videogames and likes rap music. Dad. Social media advertising. Excel guy
Feels like the bad ending but it is an ending nonetheless. Great game

It hurts my heart to say that DOOM: TDA is just very aggressively okay. The shield doing a lawn-mower on hordes of enemies is very fun. Everything else is a head-scratchingly boring mechanic. Why are there no aerial dogfights on the dragon, why are we locked in to a dodging minigame? Weird decisions

Dude #REMATCH has all the flair of NBA Street with the vibes of Rocket League. It is strikingly fun to play and I think that the skill ceiling is high for this one. There are a few bugs here and there but the Mercy Rules (winning by four ends the game) and short matches pull me right back in

Picked this one up because it looks like Fire Emblem, it plays and acts like FE. I starve for any and all new FE content and games. Can't say it's got a FE-caliber story, but hey neither was Fire Emblem: Engage. Giving this one a Fire Emblem: Engage out of Fire Emblem: Awakening. #DarkDeityII

Pretty heckin’ pleased to have a question of mine pop up in Community Questions on @minnmax.bsky.social last week!

Bro, 3D Sonics WISH they could do what this game does. Holy hell is this thing FUN. It's part flow-state 3D sonic, part Jetliner Sim. Not sold on the STS-like pathways or the Roguelite items. Sometimes I wish levels were hand-designed with multiple paths. But it's awesome. Play this.

Maybe a bit frustratingly minimalist in art, combat, story, & guidance, this game focuses one thousand percent of its efforts in to making platforming the most fun aspect. I think the metroidvania aspect is interesting, but not sure I love it. Want this to click a bit more with me...

Who hasn't picked up their niece & nephews Little Tykes toys and decided to play Resident Evil with them? Spooky without being overtly disgusting or scary, I really enjoyed my time with these puzzles and slow/tense shootouts with zombie (?) enemies.

I am loving booting up this absolute flow-state game. There is absolutely nothing like learning to fly with the grapple hook, never needing the ground to vanquish enemies. Even just riding around relatively aimlessly across these TOTK-style sky islands is fun. Great Game

Having a button on your brand-new console that only functions if you have purchased a subscription service to use it is, inherently, silly as fuck

Can't even begin to describe how excited I am that #MinusTheBear is coming back for their 20th anniversary of Menos el Oso. Cannot wait to get my feet in the doors of this show

#Dredge Can't say I've ever loved the fishing mechanic in any game up to this but this game manages to make it fun, exciting, and nerve-racking. Sad I'm late to the party on this, but upgrading that little boat will stick with me for a while

#LonelyMountainsSnowRiders If you've ever went skiing or snowboarding on a big mountain in Colorado, cool wind chill in your face, mountains on the horizon, and nothing beneath you but the silent powder of the snow...this is that game. Pure zen. I love this shit

Posting some more games I've played this month

#ShogunShowdown, I so strongly wish I was playing this game more often. This is a real short and deliberately sweet game of tactics. Easy enough to feel good at, but has the weight of difficulty on the backend to test your knowledge. Highly recommend.

Big shout out God of War Ragnarok for giving me this moment this week, pretty happy for the laugh

Hey gang shout out #Tetrachroma for revitalizing my free time with Tetris. Been playing this stupid must-match-colors-of-blocks-to-clear gimmick all the time just before bed for the sweet sweet row-clearing dreams.

Just got my Tunic Vinyl box set in the mail today. This whole package goes UNBELIEVABLY hard dude. Wtf. Worth the years long wait. Fantastic game, phenomenal soundtrack, can’t wait to spin this a thousand times. Shoutout @mangomagerecords.bsky.social for the work

Lotta bodies out there hyping up this JRPG but I'm just not sure it's it for me. Only four hours in so maybe I need a little push to get to the good stuff. Usually I'm a sucker for turn-based RPGs but idk. Art is cool though.

Borderline psychotic DOOM-like. At it's best when you're sprinting through levels and mowing down things in your path. Has a few arena-style moments that reminded me of DOOM Eternal as well. Thoroughly enjoyed this, but also thankful that it was relatively short at around 8.5 hours for me.

Mirrors Edge with guns. Short, replay-able levels meant to be played as a speed runner. It's easy to get Gold on most levels, but precise shots and careful planning can get you platinum on each quick course. The story is weird so I've been skipping it but gameplay is great.

Lemmings in 3D. Play as a dog and direct thousands of aimless people to a goal. Bonus points if you can locate and direct the Golden Totem to the end goal. Great puzzle game. Odd music. Cute dog.

Way more entertaining than I expected. Action platforming with the gimmick being that all action is to the beat of the music, where hits and combos are better if you can keep up with the rhythm. Beautiful to look at, fun to listen to, funny in a Scott-Pilgrim vs. The World kind of way.

If Borderlands was a rougelite. That's the pitch. Certainly not as silly and nowhere near as gory, but fun nonetheless. Good skill tree that ensures you'll progress just a little bit further each run. Great for quick little half-hour or 45 minute breaks.

#DomeKeeper
Steamworld Dig meets Majora's Mask's time mechanics. Dig for materials to upgrade your Dome on a hostile planet. You only get so much time to dig in between waves of monsters attacking the dome. Simple game but effective in execution. I liked this but pick up on sale.
