Now I'm feeling all inspired to mention my lesser-known bird facts.

1) Tufted titmice are ventriloquists. They can throw their voice to sound like they're moving into the distance, while staying put and tricking predators.

Tomorrow after the vet appt, I'm going home to slap together a "quick" croquembouche. My friend likes sunflowers, so we'll see if I can make some decent ones out of royal icing.

Anybody else have a family trade that they keep falling into accidentally? In spite of yourself?

Curious about other bird watchers- what's your "Bucket List" bird? The one you hope to see in person some day? The one you've considered making a special road trip/flight out to its home turf? What's so neat about it that you want to see it?

Good morning! Busy day today! We have a plumber due this morning, I'm making chicken pot pies for a friend, I have to go to the barn to cuddle my horse, and I also... kinda foolishly... promised to make a croquembouche for my friend's game night tonight. Like this but without the cake base.

1) I made a croquembouche for a dinner party this week. The host said it's the fanciest dessert anybody's ever brought them. We're now planning a pastry-making lesson day!
