Great news for planetary health. Unfortunately, the U.S. has not ratified the High Seas Treaty and is not expected to under Trump. Instead, Trump has issued an executive order saying NOAA can unilaterally issue permits for deep-sea mining in international waters. Dozens of countries object.
Some good news: The High Seas Treaty, as it is known, was ratified by a 60th nation, Morocco, crossing the threshold for United Nations treaties to go into effect. Two decades in the making, it allows for the establishment of enormous conservation zones in international waters.

The Premier League teams, which unbelievably are allowed to make up their own rules, had a chance to block the type of weird manoeuvre Chelsea pulled by selling selves hotels/women’s team to pass PSR. They didn’t in case they may need to pull similar trick. So, enter Aston Villa this week. Farcical.
