Researcher, policy analyst, and mom to 3 amazing kids.
It was an honour to join Remembrance Day ceremonies at long-term care homes across Ottawa West—Nepean and to lay a wreath on behalf of the Government of Ontario.

Thank you to the Westboro Legion Branch 480 for organizing these meaningful ceremonies.

It was a pleasure to connect with former Ontario Principals’ Council President and Ottawa West—Nepean constituent Patsy Agard recently in Toronto. Her leadership in our schools continues to inspire the work we’re doing to support students and educators across Ontario.

These unelected, unqualified, partisan appointees who are getting $350,000 from taxpayers are making decisions behind closed doors and the Ford government is perfectly fine with it. Parents deserve transparency. Communities deserve a voice.

Doug Ford and the Conservatives think they can take away your right to have a say in local schools without even having to hear what you think about it. Join MPP Peggy Sattler and me for a townhall this Thursday, November 13 at 6 pm, where we'll prove them wrong.

The Nurse Practitioner Association of Ontario joined us at Queen’s Park and I had the chance to sit down with some nurse practitioners, including Jessica Romeo from Ottawa West–Nepean, to discuss improving funding models and better integrating NPs into our health care system.

“The disadvantages are, you know, probably pretty clear. There’s one of me. There’s only so many places that I can be, so being only one person is clearly a disadvantage.” Bob Plamondon, OCDSB supervisor on supervision.
OCDSB supervisor will earn up to $350,000 a year
Education Minister Paul Calandra expects they will be paid the maximum amount and he's 'not shy or embarrassed' there's a budget in place

Today, the government just voted to end debate and skip public hearings on Bill 33, shutting out parents, educators, and students from having any say. Our voices matter. Our schools matter. But it's not too late to take action: email the Premier and demand he withdraw Bill 33. #onpoli #onted

Today, I asked the Minister why he thinks it’s acceptable to pay Conservative insiders $350,000 a year to ignore parents and refuse accountability. Parents, kids, and educators deserve better.

The Ontario Autism Coalition, Community Living Ontario, ETFO, and countless parents have spoken out: special education is in crisis. Chronic underfunding continues to fail children with disabilities. The Minister of Education needs to fund our schools and protect our students.

This government is paying unelected school supervisors up to $350,000 a year to replace democratically elected trustees and they won’t even respond to parents or communities. Ontarians deserve transparency, not government appointees hiding from accountability.

This Minister of Education can pretend he doesn’t understand how funding cuts work but the facts don't lie. When you don’t fund education at the same rate as inflation and enrollment growth, that’s a cut. It’s that simple. Ontario students deserve real investment, not partisan spin.

It was a pleasure to meet with the Ontario Locals of the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) to discuss the importance of fair, transparent rights for workers. Every worker deserves to be protected, respected, and supported in their workplace.

Grateful to meet with the Canadian Cancer Survivor Network and hear from Ottawa West–Nepean residents Lindsay Timm and Jackie Manthorne about the lived experiences behind cancer care. Their advocacy highlights how vital it is to support caregivers.

Unlike the Blue Jays, the Ford government is striking out at the plate. The Education Minister's appointees have no experience and are more focused on penny-pinching than supporting our kids.

Stop the cuts and fund our education system.

We need to fire the manager of Ford's Cutters, get rid of the whole team and instead Fund Our Schools

Too many families and educators are living with the consequences of inaction. The Minister needs to listen to the experts and take meaningful steps to prevent future tragedies. Our kids deserve better than what the former Minister provided.

Ford government having discussions to ‘better safeguard the use of seclusion rooms’ in schools
Advocates say the lack of standards for such rooms, especially after a student died in a ‘sensory’ room last year, is ‘outrageous’

Honoured to co-sponsor with MPP Jennie Stevens the Remembrance Day Observance Act, which ensures every Ontario student participates in an in-person ceremony on November 11. It’s important that we honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served, and that their legacy is never forgotten.

I had the opportunity to sit down with Naomi Noack-Simone, a Legislative Page from OWN, who shared how great her experience has been. I was impressed by Naomi’s intelligence, work ethic, and determination and I know she’s going to go on to do great things! 1/2

Our classrooms are overcrowded. Teachers and EAs are exhausted. Students with special needs are being left behind. Instead of fixing the crisis, Bill 33 silences the very people fighting for solutions. Parents, communities and students deserve better

Experts have shown that speed cameras protect kids in school zones and communities have been clear that they want them, but instead of respecting the evidence and listening to communities, the Ford gov't is taking speed cameras away, putting kids' lives at risk.
