Without increased funding, colleges like Algonquin will be forced to cut more programs & lay off more staff, leaving students with less options. If strengthening our workforce is part of Ontario’s economic strategy, the govt’s dramatic underfunding of colleges is taking us in the opposite direction.

Thank you to Jenna and Stephen from RNAO for stopping by my office to discuss the urgent need to strengthen primary care in Ontario. As you shared, ensuring people have stable housing and access to supportive housing is essential to improving our health care system.

We need to be investing in Ontario's future and that includes investing in our post-secondary sector before it's too late. Algonquin's 37 program closures and the loss of the Perth campus are a small preview of what's coming if cuts to the sector continue.

The Queensway Carleton Hospital has a ready-to-go proposal to expand its capacity and meet the needs of our local population, it just needs provincial funding. We need urgent investments so that people in the west-end of Ottawa can have timely access to urgent care.

Food bank demand across Ottawa is exceeding capacity as more working families struggle to afford groceries. The province needs to act to lower costs and increase minimum wage and social assistance to curb hunger.

Bill 33 is already changing school board culture before any takeover even happens. When healthy debate is treated as “dysfunction,” we get less transparency and the voices of educators and students are stifled. (1/2)

500,000 people now rely on the Queensway Carleton Hospital, a facility built to serve just 100,000. QCH has a ready-to-go expansion plan that doesn’t require new land; it only requires provincial funding. (1/2)

At today’s Finance Committee hearing, the Food Sharing project shared harrowing stats about student hunger in Ontario. Their Budget 2026 ask would bring funding to 15¢ per student per day, still only one-quarter the national average for school food programs. I think it’s the least our kids deserve.

When trustees were in charge, the public got detailed explanations about school board finances. Now, under supervision, that transparency is gone, and the Minister's messaging isn't backed up by the facts. We deserve clear, honest information about how education dollars are really being spent.

Bob Plamondon is being paid $350,000 a year to “balance the budget" but even he can’t do it because the Ford government’s education funding is so inadequate. If he’s going to cash that kind of cheque with taxpayer’s money, the least he can do is his platform to demand better funding for our kids.
