Blocking Andy Burnham from standing is not putting the country before the party. It’s not even the best decision for the party. Starmer is ultimately prioritising his job. A job he is doing badly. Which will result in Britain falling to the far right.

Absolutely unforgivable.

Okay, so the UK is now, with a Labour Government, which in my humble opinion is more right wing than David Cameron.
So, as a form of political opposition, which party is available to represent me, and my socialist views?
Please explain to me how the current FPTP system can be allowed to continue.

Hey let’s say it once again. In 1992 the Tories realised they were unelectable. The tories took control of the Labour Party and consequently won the 1997 election. The tories wrenched authority from their namesakes at the expense of a coalition, which ultimately suited their purpose.

I’m disappointed as a social democrat, a former Labour member, a subscriber of momentum, to see a Labour Government more Conservative than Margaret Thatcher could have hoped for. #BlueLabour

A very personal post, because not one single person will be interested or care. In 1985 I had 2 tickets for Live Aid, and 2 tickets for Bruce Springsteen.
I can never revisit Live Aid, but I realised that this could be my last opportunity to see #TheBoss Given a retrospective choice❤️

In 1978 I listened to, heard, liked and bought a record. The Feeling of the 5000.
There’s something so fundamentally wonderful about the brutalist lyrics and rhythms.
Society, money and culture is becoming a commodity for the billionaires.

Neoliberalism is great
Ignoring facts and figures, we’re doing great as a society, everything is improving, thanks to our Governments’s agenda.
Unfortunately facts and figures contradict the false narrative.
#SocialismSolidarity has not been needed for decades. We need #socialismsolidarity.

Trump is unleashing terror www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2025/01... Trump has made clear what he intends to do. He is planning that the people of the USA be oppressed by fear. His Age of Aggression is being rolled out at breakneck speed. It is the route to totalitarianism.

Instead of
plugging tax loopholes
new powers to stop tax evasion via British dependencies
banning consultancies which advise on tax avoidance from government contracts
lots more tax inspectors for millionaires accounts

Labour go after the poor, disabled, MH survivors on benefit
Benefit cheats could be stripped of driving licences.

Someone innocently exceeding the Carer's earning limit is charged with fraud, can't drive, many not be able to work, can't support family, needs more benefits.

Hawks are appeased

No equivalent sanctions for tax abusers, launderers, real crooks
Benefit cheats could lose driving licences in anti-fraud drive
A proposed new law will also give ministers greater powers to request bank account information.

As a consequence of meaningful socialism and a neoliberalism a country lurches towards the extreme right wing. It’s almost orchestrated!

Global politics is becoming more and more like Tudor England, with billionaires filling the role of feuding Dukes to take/keep control of everything.
Democracy as such isn’t effective and political power is still dependent upon wealth and influence.
Unfortunately nothing has really changed.

The U.K. has an unwritten democratic system, which is based upon Royal Consent. Which doesn’t seem very democratic but a form of Feudalism, masquerading as a form of democracy. Dependant upon financing feudalism.
Guess what?
We’re still financing Royalty and ind a feudal society. Is this excusable?

I’m not in the habit of wishing everyone a happy next day.
Nor indeed a happy month, because I am not a person who particularly celebrates the Gregorian calendar.
I will therefore express my wishes of good intentions to everyone tomorrow, and indeed everyday. 😁

I must be extremely stupid.
If the country can’t afford decent levels of housing, education, healthcare, social services, police service and prisons. How can the U.K. afford so many billionaires?

The most important roles are the maintenance of hygiene and cleanliness, but these are the least rewarding jobs. Society needs to reflect, respect and recognise value and worth. Not continue rewarding entitlement and privilege.
