Write about Ottoneu for FanGraphs, pod about keeper leagues for Pitcher List. Also like to talk soccer, books, politics, etc. When it's not fantasy, it's Guardians, Sounders, Reign, Cavs.
just FYI the team in the second link was just claimed. the H2H league still has that spot

sure! you can check out some details on the two leagues (one team available in each) here: bsky.app/profile/chad...

and here: bsky.app/profile/chad...
H2H, 5x5 categories, on FanTrax. Rules under league 2 on this doc: bit.ly/KorKConstitu.... 28 man rosters, snake draft, 3 round MiLB draft with up to 5 MiLB players per roster. Roster in image below. Last column is keeper cost. This team should have stacked OF and good young players to build around.

KC and Cleveland are both in on Donovan supposedly. McNeil as poor man's Donovan seems reasonable. If the twins are serious about building, a guy who can move around and full in wherever their youth fails is interesting. The Mariners need to rebuild their IF.

I'm sure there are teams interested given his defensive flexibility, but I'd be super hesitant to give up much given he could be done. Think his value could go up a lot of they wait until March and he shows he's fully healthy after surgery.

Yeah and to be clear, Morris is a locked on starter for me. Every single match he can play, he should. But yeah I thought the Minnesota series for sure we looked stronger with both of them

Oddly, I think it's a player who can do LESS than Jordan can. Staying home and being targets in the box. Jordan very much can do that stuff but I think he's more valuable given the space to do more, whereas I don't think Musovski or De Rosario can do a lot of what Jordan can do.

I can understand that. I'd be curious to look at the numbers but I feel like the offense has been overall more effective when we've had more of a "true" striker on the pitch.

Replace? No. But I think he's more valuable as a wing or a second striker in a 2 forward lineup. Though his flexibility to do both is very valuable.

It creates chaos and upsets and those are good for business.

If I were in the MLS office I would be concerned that this will lead to underdogs in particular just playing for penalties from the start every time, but I'm not sure I have seen that happening widely

How could the keeper NOT impact the shot though? Like what's the argument? If he's not off maybe Vargas doesn't have to go so wide with the shot right? It is what it is but feels like that particular bullet point in the rules shouldn't exist

Had the same question. Christian never took one

The numbers drop exponentially. That $99MM increases the $ per employee from $13 to about $47. Start looking at corporate profits if you actually want to see big numbers. Going further down the executive list will get you basically nowhere

Extrapolate what?
November 4, 2025 at 11:06 PM
Any word on why? Alex hurt?

There is a hard line in what they SAY. If you think that's a clear delineation in what definitely did happen or definitely didn't happen, that's fine. But I don't think that's the case. They have to make a decision and they did, but someone could have said "stands" there just as easily.
November 3, 2025 at 10:47 PM
My take on this is that a) we overindex on "confirmed" vs "stands" because it's a spectrum with no hard line and b) there's subconscious/psychological impacts on how a human views video like that; if ump called safe, the reviewer would have gone in with a totally different mindset from the start.

Don't think it's cynical - it was incredibly close and I don't think there's such clear bigger evidence that the call could be overturned either way. That call was happening on the field and that was that

Like if you told the Yankees and Dodgers "your profit is capped at the same dollar figure as the small market teams, the rest needs to be spent," that's a MUCH bigger impact than telling small markets to increase spending to the same share of revenue that the dodgers/Yankees spend
November 2, 2025 at 4:42 PM
Money won't make a team good, but it makes the job a lot easier. And the dodgers happen to be in a position to spend more than anyone AND profit more than anyone. If you want more money going to players and less to owners, the dodgers and Yankees are the biggest offenders. They have the money.
November 2, 2025 at 4:41 PM
That's not really relevant since there's nothing stopping that from happening today.
