We don’t celebrate Pride for the rainbows or parades, we do it because *right now* someone out there believes they don’t deserve love, just because of who they are or who they love.

That’s why we celebrate Pride—because we want to build a world where no one feels that way.

Over the 1994-2024 period, the average rate of sea level rise in the #Miami area is ~0.27 in/yr (~0.68 cm/yr). But it's not happening evenly throughout the year!
Looking at all 3-month periods, the strongest upward trend comes from Oct-Nov-Dec, while the weakest trend comes from Jul-Aug-Sep. 🌊

It's Grace Hopper's Birthday! This amazing woman was responsible for COBOL, and many computing innovations. She also discovered a "bug" in her work, which is documented in this page from her notebook. The term bug in the system predates her , but she may have coined "debugging" 🧪🦋😀

When saltwater bubbles up through cracks in the street, you bring in the heavy equipment. It’s that time of year again in Miami: King tides causing sunny-day floods. Sea level has risen 15 centimeters (8 inches) here in the last 30 years. Eventually pumps won’t be enough.
