This has always been the GOP's strategy:

1) Cut taxes for the wealthy & corporations by claiming they'll pay for themselves.

2) Explode deficits

3) Use the debt as an excuse to demand cuts to vital programs that help millions.

4) Repeat.

Sending active duty Marines to a domestic protest is quite the red line. If I were a US Marine, I'd be asking myself right now about the oath I took to the Constitution, and thinking on how Donald Trump has made a mockery of that oath—and how, if you follow illegal orders, then so have you.

To put this in perspective: the entire U.S. Budget is $7 trillion. And Trump’s tariffs and Republican complicity in then just lost the American people $6 trillion.

Musk’s status as a “special government employee” limits him to 130 days in the executive branch. However, despite working daily—documented by his own X posts—they claim he only works one day a week, effectively stretching his limit to 130 weeks. This needs to be brought to Congress—please share.

To go along with our piece today, we published an extensive list of folks associated with DOGE. It builds off and adds to the strong work that Wired, WaPo, ProPublica and other pubs have been doing.

The public has a right to know who is dismantling the government.

When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here. Take inspiration from it.
