Starting to layer in some more of the blockout. Figuring a direction of the layout, texture usage before working on the models (decimated right now with basic UVs).

Landscape will be build using spline meshes, blending the base landscape with the spline meshes similar to my SW environment

Need to work on the glass design, entrance way and walk way over the next few weekends.

Going to continue blocking out the walk way and halls now.

Been hard at work over the weekend on my environmment.

Pillars and supports are coming along
Resized the wall tiles
Updated lighting a bit more
Started on the wall details - more to come!
Sketched out the window ideas
Started exploring new pattern ideas for the gold (Not in engine yet)

Switching back to some blockout work of the throne area. Small break from Trim sheets.

Will be working on this more tomorrow.

Feeling good about this now.

Just need to push my detail design work and focus on small details on larger props. More gilded designs needed. Practice required! :D

Starting to add the trim sheets to some meshes. I need to work on some of the models to add details.

changed the lighting a bit to push the focus onto the throne area.

Starting to feel better about this environment but still a ways to go!

Just need to sculpt the final bit before doing some additional details.

Its been interesting keeping the detail sharp and smaller than usually. Fun challenge. Even if it does mess with my head a bit!

Today is my One Hundred and Eleventh Birthday!

(Well, 38 today. Close enough)

As I get closer to 40, I'm reflecting back on the last 15 years since I entered games. Its been a rollercoaster. Ups, downs. I didn't expect my career to lead me to where I am

Going chunky with the archways for the environment. Might have over done the details in places but I can revist.

Mixing in some art styles from some of my favourite games. Its been a nice little challenge.

Its been a while since I did any sculpting for personal work. So I've done a bit of 3d sketching in Zbrush to get the idea down for the angel throne.

Need to finish this blockout before detailing it tomorrow.

I'm off work until the 27th so I want to try and get as much done on this as I can.

The Rusty Speeder environment (Star Wars inspired) was a huge level up project for me. But it was a massive undertaking. Similar to the 2021 City at the Gates project.

Last updates on my UE5 throne block out environment this weekend.

Started putting my focus into the throne section now. I need to sketch over the seat and start designing how I want that to look.

I've also scaled back the larger wings behind the throne.

So, I had an idea for a second environment project. Reusing an old Dragon skeleton I had made a couple of years back.

Sculpted a rock to get a feeling how this might work and added some chains.

Should be a fun side project whilst I work on my throne room.

Some updates on the throne room environment in Unreal Engine 5!

Worked on a few little blockout props today. Middle of a heatwave so its not been easy to sit here and art.

Tomorrow I should be able to finish the rest of the rooms blockout before moving on to sculpting designing the angel!

Small update to the blockout!

Working on the Throne area. Getting an idea for the wings and the updated throne layout.

Some updates to my project! Reworked the room (again) but much happier this time.

Going to be working on the roof tomorrow and finally starting some sculpt work mock ups!

Also started planning my side project which I might start tomorrow.
