Jami, Part-Time Sapphic
@celestialgreen.bsky.social
Former musicologist. A little obsessed with games, cats, horror, and witchcraft. Chaotic bisexual. Incredible bibliophile. Disabled, ADHD, a little too nice for my own good. Will read tarot for you. She/they, genderqueer. (Art by StinaMarie).
40 this year, and feeling more comfortable in my vessel than maybe I ever have. (And I'm definitely the hot one of my sisters.) I am finally myself, finally out of fucks to give about being who I am. And when I, at least, reach my crone years, may the gods have mercy on all our souls.

I literally just introduced my wife to Pixel-Stitch and said "can you do this scene for me?"

My friend Kat decided they needed something to do with their hands. So they took up whittling.

They made this as their first project. Isn't it gorgeous?

We need to make things with our hands. We need to be creative, to toss aside AI and just fill the world with who WE are.

Be like Kat.

Persie approves of my copy of Isabel Cañas’ THE POSSESSION OF ALBA DIAZ. (And y’all, she just put her paw reassuringly on my leg. Squeeeeee) #cats #horrorsky

I embroidered this by hand! Someday I'll do it again, and incorporate all the techniques I've learned since the original. (I'd show the project I'm working on right now, but it sort of looks like a vulva atm.)

How about a compromise? It's not the hottest picture of @celestialblue.bsky.social but it's got my favorite calico in it, so her hotness is tempered by Persie's cuteness! (Read the alt-text.)

Oh hey! My little town had its Pride Parade today. My wife helped out and had a great time. I couldn't go (my body hates me today) but they had a great turnout for the parade and festival! And then we have a drag show tonight!

So of course, when my wife got home, she adorned Luna in Pride gear.

“No Kings, Mommy!” —Apollo
(My wife then had to chase him all over the living room with the flag in his mouth.)

I'm kind of between books right now? I have a stack sitting beside me on the couch, and theoretically I'm supposed to choose one today. But The Depression has me and it's hard to take pleasure in things, even reading.

Fuck it. I picked up Daisy Pearce's SOMETHING IN THE WALLS. Going for it.

Look at that floof monster!!! THAT TUMMY. I'm reminded of the video (from someone whose name I don't remember, sorry) that said "if you're not huffing your cat, what are you even doing?" Just bury your face in their fur and breathe it in.

Here's my floof monster for tax.

I embroidered this handkerchief for a friend, and wove a spell to protect them while they travel. (They love to live minimally and use the savings to travel the world.) Only 14 more hankies to make. #craftsky

My little black cat, Luna, is just the best kitty. I've been having a terrible day. Five solid minutes of her crooning to her toy mouse as loudly as she can, putting it in her mouth and dropping it at my feet? My heart is melted, and all is right with the world. Thanks, little girl. #cats

I picked up this little adorable highland cow at our local farmer's market yesterday. No reason. I just thought it was adorable and I liked the energy. HOW CAN YOU SAY NO TO THAT FACE #craftsky

@khthoniaa.bsky.social This is what I was talking about.

I know I didn't post this right when I finished it, but this is my latest completed project. Art inspo from Achen089 on DeviantArt (I tried to get a hold of them, but their account has been defunct for 10+ years). It's an offering to Athena, and I'm happy (despite what washing did to the leaves).

Luna, Persephone, and Apollo all send along their best.

Persie's feeling a little nihilistic today, and who can blame her?

Also, have a look at my latest embroidery project while you're at it. It pretty much sums me up. (Enough that when I showed it to my therapist, she laughed a little too hard.) #craftsky #embroidery

Let's gooooooo

I've been looking forward to this. Ready to be emotionally wrecked

So I'm doing my embroidery project, and it's a tarot card of The Moon, with a black cat sitting on a crescent moon. I was filling in the cat, but had to stop when my friend came over to work out. Long story short, my cat has a Hitler haircut. Oops. #embroidery #crafting

My latest embroidery project turned out pretty solid, all things considered. And then I was able to learn how to back the hoop and sew felt on to protect it. Maybe I'll learn this craft yet, who knows. (This is how I'm coping with *gestures wildly at everything*)

NETTLE & BONE, by @tkingfisher.com

I told you, all her work is phenomenal. This is officially a T. Kingfisher stan account, and I'm not sorry. This is a masterful dark fantasy about the lengths you'll go to for your family. I literally buy extra copies to give to friends. #booksky #darkfantasy

A PSALM FOR THE WILD-BUILT, by Becky Chambers

It's a quirky, contemplative sci-fi like you've never read before, and I promise you, it will change your heart, if you let it. Its sequel is equally poignant and peaceful, and you will never regret reading these short masterpieces. #booksky

THE FERVOR, by @almakatsu.bsky.social

Everyone needs to read this book. It is a horrific, supernatural take on the Japanese internment camps in WW2, from 3 different perspectives. Anything Katsu writes, I will read. It is devastating, haunting and beautiful beyond belief. #horrorcommunity #booksky

BOOKSHOPS & BONEDUST, by Travis Baldree

Friends, if you have any love of gaming or D&D-type games (or even just a queer romance or two) read this book and its predecessor. This book will blow your socks off with the sheer amount of heart Baldree puts into it.

THE DEVIL AND MRS DAVENPORT, by Paulette Kennedy

This book was relatable, as someone coming from a toxic Christian house. The tale is gripping and traumatic, and beautifully-written. Check trigger warnings on this one. #booksky #horrorcommunity
