Lisa Murkowski cuts a last minute deal solely to benefit Alaska, exempting it from some of the more odious parts of the bill to secure her vote and sell out the rest of the US. Yeah this stuff sucks and hurts a lot of people, but I got Alaskans exempted so the hell with you.

I’m choked up seeing this—it’s shameful.

Iranian refugees got snatched by “immigration agents” dressed like bounty hunters in West LA’s Sawtelle neighborhood.

We’re really about to send them back to a country we just bombed? A regime known for jailing, torturing, and killing its own people?

We’ve bombed Iran. And dismantled our joint terrorism task force. And sent a third of the FBI to help ICE. And gutted the National Security Council. And a drunk guy is in charge at the pentagon. And our intelligence allies probably won’t share intel with us. Because people couldn’t vote for a woman.

When people refer to the “bond market” they’re talking about people who are buying US Treasury bonds. These are the people/countries who are basically lending the US govt $ & receiving interest payments. Higher interest payments mean that folks aren’t as interested in buying/lending us $ anymore.

It has been maddening watching some elected Democrats try to have it both ways with Trump, condemning him as a fascist threat to democracy and then voting for his nominees or, in some cases, even more embarrassing and confusing moves.

Oh wow.

Note: This response (below, which is real) to Trump’s tweet depicting himself as pope is from the New York State Catholic Bishops, who represent the collective bishops of the state.

Among them is Cardinal Dolan of NYC, who Trump appointed to his new religious liberty commission this week.
