Good news: what you describe in your post is correct style according to Chicago Manual 17, and the new Chicago Manual 18 has completely done away with including place of publication.

Granted, someone pointed out "biscottis" is commonly used in French, and this is EN-FR packaging for Canada. But it still grates on my English and Italian ear. Ideally "biscotti" for EN and "biscottis" for FR should both be included, IMO. 2/3
